Get evaluated.: You are describing a common problem often associated with significant weight loss. Body contouring surgery involves major procedures to remove excess skin in order to achieve a smoother contour and enhanced appearance, but the trade off is indeed scars. A board certified plastic surgeon knowledgable in body contouring techniques should be able to advise you on the best treatment plan for you.

Concealed scars: Skin removal will produce scars, which in the hands of an experienced surgeon, should be capable of being concealed. This may take time, up to 2 years, for the scars to mature and become less apparent. The arm surgery is called a brachiopasty and the tummy tuck is called an abdominoplasty.

Skillful removal: In the hands of an experienced board certified plastic surgeon, you should be able to achieve improvements with scars that may be concealed beneath clothing or in most circumstances. A consultation to discuss your options and if you are a good candidate is essential. These are termed brachiopasty and abdominoplasty procedures.
