See psychiatrist: Many people with habits of self-injury do this in order to deal with emotional pain they don't know how to express otherwise. This can cause problems in itself, though. You can get help by first seeing a psychiatrist for a good overall evaluation, and also working with a therapist on the painful issues in your life. Therapies such as dbt can be really especially useful, along with others.
