It is possible: Yes it is possible. If a silver amalgam is used for the filling, it may initially feel rough to the tongue. Once the filling is hard which takes about 24 hrs, it may be polished to a mirror finish. If a composite filling is used it should feel very smooth since it is hard right away and can be polished at the time of placement.
