Get an evaluation: Diagnosis of bipolar disorder requires an expert evaluation by your doctor (psychologist/psychiatrist, etc.). There are a number of possible explanations for your mood swings and irritability. Your doctor can help you understand what's going on and feel better, with appropriate treatment if necessary. It's easy to get to the bottom of this and to start feeling better. Call a professional.

Bright of you to ask: There is a range; you clearly care enough about your well being. As they say ''don't try this at home." consult a well qualified psychiatrist; your pcp should always be kept informed . Then referral for a consultation with a well trained psychiatrist. You will then remove this nagging. The bottom line is could be, could be another psychiatric area; physical/environmental will have to be waived.
