Prognosis for pnemoccocal septicemia?

Good: Depending on the source of the bacteremia. If this was bacteremic pneumococcal pneumonia and properly treated, the large majority of patients will recover. Pneumococcal sepsis in a person without a spleen, from endocarditis or other sources may have a more guarded prognosis.

Generally OK: A small percentage may not recover.

Depends: Depends on how many organ systems have failed, the more - the worse the prognosis. If it is just a simple septicemia without any organ failure, the prognosis is good.
