A member asked:

Which drug is preferable in treating septicemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibiotics+fluids: The most effective treatments include a combination of the appropriate antibiotics depending on the suspected source of infection, intravenous fluids, vasopressors if blood pressure is low and control of the source of the infection. For example if there is an abscess causing the septicemia this should be taken care of surgically with drainage in addition to the above measures
