Was wondering what are the differences between bacteriemia and septicemia?

Word games: There are overlapping features with both terms. In general, a bacteremia (bacteria in the blood) is an early stage of what may become sepsis.Sometimes the body can resist a bacteremia or early treatment will keep it from worsening. Sepsis involves a failing body response to contain the germ.It is often marked by a drop in blood pressure, rapid heart and respiratory rate and may progress to death.
