What surgery is the best way to correct a cataract?

Cataract surgery : Great question. You would receive a lot of ideas on ultrasound removal versus laser removal of a cataract. Now lasers are gaining entry into cataract surgery by actually making the incision, correcting some corneal astigmatism, and even breaking down the cataract to facilitate easier removal. Bot. Line: they are all exceptional techniques and involve replacing the cataractous lens with an implant.

Surgery: If the cataracts are visually significant, and glasses have been checked, then surgery is the best way to correct for cataracts. Using ultrasound or laser to remove the cloudy lens (cataract) and replace it with an artificial lens implant.

Laser Cataract surg: Cataract surgery is best way to remove a cataract performed with an ultrasound technology called phacoemulsification. New Laser Surgery with a femtosecond laser is likely better in many respects. They are both very effective, but the majority of eyeMDs would want Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery if given a choice & if out of pocket expenses were not an issue.
