Depends...: With my patients i'll wait until the first hand recovered from the surgery, what could happened between 2 to 6 weeks. In some rare situations i operate both hands at the same time.

Usually a month: I usually let it up to the patient to decide but most are ok doing most activities after a month and are happy to proceed at that time.

2 weeks: I tend to stage the surgery 2 weeks apart and typically recommend that the dominant hand go first unless there is a severe difference in the non dominant hand. This gives enough time to allow full function in most adl activity when people ask whether they can have surgery on both hands together i typically remind them about the bathroom!
