Soon: Assuming that the antibiotic chosen is appropriate this should begin to clear within a day or two of starting treatment, but may persist and gradually heal over the next 7 to 10 days or occasionally longer.

See doc: Chances are it still needs to achieve better drainage-- i.E be opened up more so all the pus can be evacuated.
