Resistant bacteria?: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is usually checked for when a person has a boil. One's doctor may recheck the site, swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant.
