Asthma reversible: If there is an abnormality in the breathing test it is reversible with medication in asthma but not fully reversible in copd.

See below: Asthma usually shows reversibility - improvement after inhaled bronchodilator, and preserved lung volumes (TLC) and dlco (diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide). Dlco in a way measures irreversible damage to the lungs. It will be decreased in copd, and the lung volumes will be increased, because of air trapping and hyperinflation.
