They don't: Benzodiazepines do not counteract opiates at all. In fact their sedative effect adds to that of opiates, and makes respiratory depression (stopping breathing) more likely. Very dangerous combination.

They don't : In fact, they would potentate the sedation from the overdose. His might cause significant respiratory depression.
