I have severe dental pain after extractions and cant sleep, can i take 10mg codeine phosphate and 10mg diazepam? i know benzos and opiates generally don't mix well but are these lower doses acceptable as a once off?

Good control of pain will give you a good sleep. Furthermoe, codeine also has a sleepy effect. You should avoid combine narcotic analgesic and a benzo. If codeine alone is not enough, you can take it along with ibuprofen 200 mg, x 2-3 tablets and they should work for pain after tooth extraction. Take care.
