7 months: At about 4 to 5 months a baby can sit up in a "propped" tri-pod position. Then they must learn the "righting" reflex. This means, if they lose their center, they can put out a hand to the side for balance. Once, they master their center of balance the baby can sit independently. Usually this is at 6 to 7 months.

8 months: I recommend that parents avoid yogurt as a baby food until after 8 months and limit volume to 3-4 ounces. Yogurt contains intact cow's milk protein which should be avoided in large quantities. But as a chid approaches her first birthday milk protein naturally becomes a component of their diet.
