Potentially very bad: All raw diary products can be contaminated with bacteria during the milking and production processes. Babies and the elderly are the ones most at risk for developing disease from these bacteria - Salmonella, Escherichia coli O157, Campylobacter and Listeria can be found in raw milk. Pasturization is the very simple process of heating the milk briefly at a temperature over 160 F that will kill these bacteria.
