How long should babies feed for before supplementing?

Need or Expected ??: Infants do not need supplements in the first year but it is our cultural practice to begin preparing them for table foods at 6m. By 6m they can sit up some & the tongue thrust fades some. Simple purees can be offered from the table or prepared separately. Some infants may need a vitamin supplement depending on individual issues.
