What are the chances of me getting dementia if healthy at 19?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About 1 in 7 chance: About 14% of people age 71 and older in the us have dementia. So, you have about a 1 in 7 chance of getting it. But, there are a number of factors that could increase your chance of getting dementia: older age, family history of dementia, a specific gene, mild cognitive impairment, cardiovascular disease and risk factors, low social engagement, poor diet, and head injury. Most don't get it.
