Braces: When you have your braes adjusted or progress to a new invisalign tray it can certainly be uncomfortable for a few days. If you have not other medical contraindications , over the counter medications like Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) may be helpful . If the soreness is from the wires rubbing use orthodontics wax.

Analgesics: Discomfort is typical with braces, but it is often alleviated with a combination of over-the-counter analgesics (like those used for a headache), warm salt water rinses, warm compresses, and softer diet for a few days. Prolonged pain requires a return visit with the orthodontist to check things out.

Many ways: Take 1 advil/motrin every 4 hrs w food or liquids (40% more effective than tylenol). Rinse 3-4x/day w 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water--swish & spit out. Keep appliances spotlessly clean for best gum health. Eat soft high protein diet. Cover "stickers" w orthodontic wax. Dab orabase-b onto sore spots w qtip. For a voodoo solution stick pins into your orthodontists professional card.
