Tartar: The hardened build up on teeth is called calculus and may be removed by a professional dental cleaning. Brushing and flossing will help to prevent it from building up. Crowded teeth make it much more difficult to keep these teeth clean and you are more prone to gum disease. Talk to your dentist about straightening your tooth orthodontically.
