Could the entire femur bone be replaced along with a total knee replacement?

Femur bone: In a knee replacement only the most distal aspect of the femur is replaced along with the proximal tibia and underlying portion of the patella. In extreme situations such as bone/soft tissue cancer that involves the femur shaft or infection can the entire femur bone be replaced. Even then the hip region may be salvaged. Choices are metal implants or cadaveric bone. Evenutally we will have scaffol.

Rare, rare, rare, rare: Tka is a resurfacing of the femur, tibia, and patella. Only with significant revisions or tumor reconstructive surgeries will a larger portion of the femur be replaced. Beyond this, custom implants are used.
