See an orthodontist: You didn't say when the last time you saw your dentist. Some pain with braces is normal and a mild pain reliever like aspril or advil (ibuprofen) should help. If you are having severe pain, you should go b ack to your dentist. The braces may be too tight.

Be patient: Pain should be transient and should subside quickly. In the meantime 1 Ibuprofen every 4 hours, rinse w 1tsp salt in 8 oz warm water, cover any "stickers" with orthodontic wax, dab orabase-b onto sore spots w a q-tip, keep braces-teeth-gums spotlessly clean, and eat a soft high-protein diet. If pain does not begin to ease off in 48 hours call your orthodontic specialist for appt. To ck you out.
