Mouth nose eyes : Mucus membranes are the soft tissue at openings of your body such as your mouth, nose, around eyes, throat, anus and vagina. Asthma can dry the secretions of mucus membranes but more often treatments for asthma can do this.

Mucous secretions: Asthma is an inflammatory disease characterized by thickened, edematous mucous membranes and increased mucous secretions in the airways, meaning the bronchi. Asthma medications like bronchodilators help to mobilize the secretions and this leads to clearance. Inhaled steroids decrease inflammation and that leads to reduced production of secretions in many patients.
