Cough: Could be post-viral cough? Bronchitis? Asthma? Pneumonia? Need to keep a diary of associated symptoms (fever, chills, aches, pains, sick contacts, recent travel, spent time with grandkids/nieces/nephews, etc..) and get in to see your doctor. A simple fix is on the horizon. Could even be gerd manifesting as cough.

See doctor last week: Bronchitis or pneumonia likely causes. Asthma, tuberculosis, sinusitis are also possible. It depends on what you mean by "hard to breath". Past time to see your physician.

Need evaluation: Asthma can arise at any age; these symptoms can also be associated with bronchitis. You should see your primary care doctor or an allergist to get this sorted out.
