Depends: Newly healed burns will naturally be red, pink, or brown. The injured and healed skin is very susceptible to hyperpigmentation with uv (daylight) exposure. Sunscreen is essential for the first three months. Silicone gel in liquid or solid forms can also be applied to the areas, and should be used for at least three months to improve scarring.

Burn scars: A cream will probably not do it. He or she probably needs to see a good plastic surgeon for advice on this one.
