Yes: I just ran a search of the nih database. There are only a handful of papers in low-impact journals dealing with animal experiments to support the idea that flax seed oil has anything solid to offer. I'm glad that this distinguished physician had the courage to say what he did, since he'll get a great deal of abuse from the militants and con artists for it.

Maybe: This article says flaxseed is bad for prostate cancer, and in fact it might be. If you search the medical literature (www.Pubmed.Com), you will find scientific studies showing that flaxseed oil inhibits prostate cancer, and studies showing flaxseed oil makes prostate cancer more aggressive. Like many health fads, we don't know. The best advice is to eat normal amounts of real healthy foods.
