Depends: Early prostate cancer can be successfully treated with either surgery or radiation plus or minus hormone therapy. Metastatic cancer is not curable but can do well for a while with hormones. Some cancers, strange as it may sound, grow so slow that do not need treatment at all. The challenge sometimes is to define what is the proper therapy for a particular situation. There is no "best" treatment.
