I have preoperation instruction , but still waiting for mvp repair schedule , the doctor is asking which valve do i prefer in case it is unrepairable, what is the best type?case

Complicated: This is something that should be discussed at length before surgery with a firm decision as to what type of valve. Furthermore i would hope that the surgery is being done where valve repair is preferred. If the valve is unable to be repaired the options for valves are mechanical vs. Bioprosthetic. They both have advantages and disadvantages namely need for Coumadin (warfarin) or potential for repeat surgery.
