Mitral valve imaging: Mitral valve prolapse is a diagnosis made by echo. If it is minor, sometimes there can be differences in interpretation. A trace or mild amount of mitral regurgitation (leakiness) is common and benign. Neither mitral valve issue is related to autonomic dysfunction, which deals with the nerves that regulate heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, and other automatic body functions.
