Specializes in Child Psychiatry

Type of training: Psychologists go into psychology after college to get a phd in either researh or clinical psychology (4 yrs), then an internship (1 yr) and postdoctoral training (1-2 yrs). Psychiatrists go college to medical school (4-6 yrs) then internship (1 yr) and psychiatry training (3 yrs). Child psychiatrists do 2 more yrs after that. Psychiatrists are physicians; psychologists are not.
