Depends on the cause: One sided hearing loss should be evaluated to see whether it is a conductive or sensorineural loss of hearing. Some conductive hearing loss such as perforated ear drum and otosclerosis can be helped with surgery. The other type of hearing loss may have to rely on hearing aid or cochlear implant.

Three options: If you have profound hearing loss in one ear and it is sensorineural with a normal or near normal good ear, the options are no treatment, a cros type of hearing aid that places a microphone in the bad ear that relays signals to the good ear, or a bone anchored hearing aid (baha), which is a titanium stud implanted in your skull with a processor that snaps onto it transmitting sounds to the good ear.
