Profound hearing los: If your hearing loss is truly profound, it is unlikely that conventional hearing aids will provide significant benefit . If hearing loss is severe to profound in both ears, then you should be considered for a cochlear implant. Since your hearing loss is unique compared to another, I would discuss with your audiologist which hearing aid will serve you best.
