No: I wouldn't say any surgery is easy, but sometimes it is the only option to correct the bite.

Not easy: No jaw surgery is "easy". However, the surgical correction of a crossbite is a very routing and predictable procedure. It involves surgically cutting the jaw and slowly expanding it over several days, a procedure known as "surgically-assisted rapid palatal expansion" or sarpe. It's an outpatient procedure done under general anesthesia. Most people take off work for a couple of weeks.

Cross bite: It depends how old you are. If young and indications are there, then a surgical assisted rapid palatal expansion can be performed which takes 30 min. If more involved, then a lefort osteotomy would need to be done to correct the problem. That procedure is less than two hours and little more involved.

Yes: For a well trained and experienced oral surgeon it is easy.

Easy?: No surgery is easy. It is, however, manageable. If you think you will need surgery as part of malocclusion correction, please consult with a malocclusion expert, a qualified Orthodontic Specialist. A team approach will be required.

Easy?: Surgeons never use the term "easy" since all surgery has risks. It is a very routine procedure for a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon. Usually working in conjunction with an orthodontist.
