Gums: Generally with some anesthetic and a cleaning instrument especially if it is stuck behind a wisdom tooth.

Gums: If your have something stuck under the gum the dentist will use instruments like the ones used in a dental cleaning to remove what ever is stuck . Sometimes if it is deep under the gum they may use a little local anesthetics ( novocaine) if needed.
