Health status counts: If you are young and healthy, your healing will be better/faster. If you have multiple medical problems and in poor health, the injury will not heal as well and may take longer. Protein supplement probably does not do much if you are in good health/nutritional status. Take it easy for now to allow complete healing before resuming strenuous activities. Consult doc. Good luck.
