Cushions to spread: Toes apart. May provide help in certain bunion deformities by providing counter pressure against the deviated big toe when placed in between big toe and next toe. This is a palliative treatment and does not correct deformity.

Somewhat: The big toe is much larger and more powerful than the adjacent toes. A pad placed between them will almost never straighten it, but rather deform the lesser toes. It may prevent some irritation between toes temporarily. The bunion itself can be cushioned and roomy shoes help, but the only true correction is surgery.

May help: When placed between the big toe and the second toe, toe spacers will sometimes help align the big to decrease bunion pain.

Spacers: As said , these offer little help and usually push the lesser toes over causing problems there. The real solution is to see your podiatrist and chart a course together.
