Unclear: Did they do a full pelvic exam or just a urine test? A full exam can sometimes find additional causes. Some times recurrent utis need suppression therapy with antibiotics, such as taking a pill nightly for 3-6 months to prevent reinfection.

U need a culture: Ask your doctor to do an std screen, to include chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis. In my experience, bacterial vaginosis causes a fish odor. I frequently have to treat both partners to get this infection out of the partnership. Medical books have not recognized bacterial vaginosis as a sexually transmitted disease. My 25+ years of practice tell me differently.
