how do you take ppi w/ nsaid if you have peptic ulcer? which ppi drug/dose do you recommend if someone w/ peptic ulcer must on max dose of nsaid?

Avoid NSAID if able: I would minimize NSAID use and/or consider a cox-2 alternative. Hpylori needs to be excluded and treated if present. With this i would rec high dose ppi bid for 6-8 weeks and then if PUD healed decrease to once a day.

Is ppi superior than H2 blocker to heal nsaid induced gastritis/ulcer if taken symptomatically(only when pain in stomach). I did not take it everyday.

Are there other causes to peptic ulcers besides h pylori & nsaids? H pylori test was negative, I almost never take nsaids, I dont smoke, no soda or coffee & I havent ever drank alcohol in my life so where did it come from? Could it be from stress?

Im 22 & in April I had horrible stomach pain, a couple of weeks later I had an endoscopy & it showed multiple peptic ulcers, unknown cause (not from nsaids) Ive been on ppis since then, am I ever allowed to take Motrin again?
