Dental Laser: The soft tissue dental diode laser is another great option. The non-initiated tip of the laser can reduce and help heal the pain associated with oral ulcers. The diode can also treat cold sores. The principles and techniques are the same for both. The only difference is in the causation in which the ulcer is caused by bacteria and the cold sore is viral. See a laser certified dentist for treatment.

Prevention is key: Mouth ulcers can be minimized or prevented altogether by keeping the ph of your mouth neutral and slightly basic. I routinely recommend biotene saliva substitute and mouth rinse for my patients that get mouth ulcers from medications, and it works extremely well. In severe situations, it may be necessary to have your dentist prescribe a steroid elixir for you.

Try this for ulcers: I suspect that you have aphthous ulcers, and they are a real nuisance and usually last for about six days. My clinical experience is that the medications are mildly palliative. I do, however, have a remedy that you might try. Now i want you to know that bad bites and cuts in the mouth heal in three days. Take a tooth brush and scrub your ulcer raw. It will hurt and heal in half the time.
