Feeding: It depends breast feeding or formula. Breast feeding recommended every 2-3 hours (15-20 minute each breast). If you are giving formula usually it is every 3-4 hours. The quantity depends on the baby's age. A new born may take any where from 1-3 ounces based on the birth weight. Some babies will take less but more frequently. Amount goes up as the baby grows. The baby will tell you if more hungry.

Bottle feeding: Bottle feeding with formula or expressed breast milk can follow some simple rules. Babies can usually take up to half their weight in pounds as ounces (8lb=4oz) at a feeding. They should feed about every 3 hours or 6-8 feedings/24hr. If they take all you offer every feed without spitting up, you can add a bit more to each bottle.
