See below: After high school it takes 4 years of medical school then 4 years of postgraduate training (though sometimes it can take more). For me it was absolutely worth it. I express gratitude every day for the ability to help others through the practice of medicine. I don't look at it as work. I have long days, but they fly by because i enjoy them so much.
