A member asked:

What is the proper diet for a weightlifter?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Protein: It depends on the goal the weightlifter sets, but most of those want to increase their muscle mass. A weightlifter diet must include frequent meals (q 3-4 hours) with more than adequate protein intake (it depends on the rate the muscle mass is desired to grow), adequate carbohydrate intake and regular fat intake. Also, paramount is hydration. There are also supplements that help.
