Check with Surgeon.: He (She) would be able to tell you, as he saw how everything looked, when he was there. After appropriate therapy and recovery I am sure you would be able to return to your regular activities. Good Luck.

Of course: After surgical decompression, if the symptoms did not return, strength training, weight lifting, and neck traction are recommended under professional supervision.

Would not: It is probably the weightlifting that got you to this point. Once the first rib is resected, the problem should be gone, but why take that risk? Do something less strenuous.
