Try personal trainer: The best way is to talk with a personal trainer on staff at the gym if possible. They are professionals in the area and can tailor a personalized worout strategy thatis designed for your particular needs. Workouts are definitely not "one size fits all". A trainer or fitness instructor can help move you toward your goals efficinetly and safely.

Progressively: A graduated return to activity is the safest way to return to the gym. This means that you should plan on doing 25% of your normal routine at 25% of the intensity for 2 wks, followed by an increase in intensity by 25% each 2 weeks.
