Help you sleep: Quetiapine is an antipsychotic medicine with relaxing properties. It can help when anxiety and insomnia are very bothersome and other medications have not sufficiently worked. Most likely what it will do if used only intermittently, is help you sleep. Discuss your concerns with your physician.

Antipsychotic: Seroquel (brand name for quetiapine) is a 2nd generation or "atypical" anti-psychotic. It is likely to help insomnia & anxiety, but it's not fda approved for this. Many feel such medicines are overprescribed given their potential risks, e.g. "metabolic syndrome". Maybe you could ask your doc about prescription & non-prescription alternatives? Seroquel (quetiapine): Low dose seroquel (quetiapine) can help sleep if used on as needed basis. Some effects may be sedation the next morning and appetite increase. Consult your prescribing doctor.
