No mystery here: Recurring compression of the nerve endings in your fingertip causes the nerve to be damaged or functionally overloaded. Typically sensory loss is reversible if the condition has not been going too long. Find a different way to shift or you're likely to get even worse.

neuritis VS CTS: Digital neuritis vs cts. If carpal tunnel, should initially improve with night splinting. A gel cylinder on the fingertip may help the repetitive trauma and digital neuritis. Bringing a frozen bottle of water to hold at the job to ice between activities may minimize swelling and pain.
