Hopefully not: All medications can have side effect and it can vary from one person to another. I have heard about people leaving their house and driving their car and not remembering doing that. I took it before and i had no problem with it , .

Sleep Walking: Per Drugs.Com - somnabulism (sleep walking ) is rare with ambien >(less than 0.1%). With that said, some of my patient who have taken ambien have demonstrated bizarre behaviors while asleep. One was arrested for driving his car while sleeping.

Yes it could but it is rare. The risk cannot be eliminated but perhaps reduced with a low dose. I would be wise to put precautions in place to manage safety issues. Your experience with sleepwalking could be helpful in guiding this. It may be advisable to consult a sleep specialist and consider overnight sleep study. Additionally a sleep hygiene program may reduce need for Ambien.
