A member asked:

Hello. i am going to see a polomogist next week. i have swllen nodes in my chest. should i ask him to preform a biopsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enlarged lymph nodes: I presume the enlarged lymph nodes were noted on a routine x-ray. Sometimes the distribution of the nodes gives a clue to the diagnosis without a biopsy. Other times, a biopsy is necessary your pulmonologist will determine the next steps. At your age and gender, he will want to rule our sarcoidosis, pulmonary infections, and lymphoproloferative disorders.
