Gynecomastia in young adult males can be caused by: underdeveloped testes with low testosterone, liver disease, high prolactin levels, use of H2 blockers for reflux, and generalized obesity. Your primary care Dr should do a complete exam, along with lab tests including hormone levels. Effort should be made to normalize body weight which will reduce the gynecomastia.
