Sex, drugs, and hope: You get HIV from having unprotected sex or sharing needles/syringes with someone else who has it. You get aids by not diagnosing or treating HIV soon enough. There's great reason for hope: HIV is now highly treatable.

HIV: Hiv is transmitted through mucosal surfaces in blood and seminal fluids. Hiv is the virus that is transmitted. Aids is the end stage of the disease.

...: Hiv is transmitted via blood, semen, vaginal fluid, breast milk and any other body fluid containing blood. Unprotected sex is a risk factor. Anal sex is riskier than vaginal sex which is riskier than oral sex. Sharing needles and "works" can transmit hiv. If concerned about acquiring HIV talk to md about getting tested. Hiv is a treatable medical condition that people can live with for many years.
